Terms of Service – syncPG (PG/Hostel Platform)
1. ROLE OF syncPG
syncPG is a technology platform that connects users (students, working professionals, tenants) with PG/Hostel owners or property managers.
syncPG:
- Does not operate any PG/Hostel
- Does not provide accommodation services directly
- Is not an agent or representative of any PG owner
- Displays information provided by PG/Hostel operators such as room availability, rent, amenities, rules, and policies
The booking confirmation, room availability, pricing, and property details shown in syncPG are based entirely on data updated by the PG/Hostel operators.
2. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY OF syncPG
syncPG shall NOT be responsible for:
- Quality, cleanliness, hygiene, or maintenance of the PG/Hostel
- Behaviour, conduct, or service of the PG/Hostel staff or owner
- False or outdated information provided by PG/Hostel operators
- Room allocation, changes, or non-availability upon arrival
- PG/Hostel refusing check-in for any valid reason (ID mismatch/late arrival/house rules violation)
- Loss or damage to guest belongings
- Utility issues like power failure, water shortage, Wi-Fi interruption, etc.
- Sudden closure, renovation, or shutdown of the PG/Hostel
- Any emergency, medical, legal or police-related incident at the property
The responsibility for providing the accommodation rests solely with the PG/Hostel operator.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE USERS
Users must:
- Provide accurate personal details during booking
- Carry valid government ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, DL, etc.)
- Follow the PG/Hostel rules, timings, and behaviour policies
- Confirm room details, rules, food timings, restrictions, and check-in conditions before arrival
- Reach the accommodation on time for check-in
- Report any discrepancy immediately to the PG/Hostel management
All bookings are strictly non-transferable.
4. BOOKING & PAYMENT TERMS
Booking can be done through:
- syncPG app
- syncPG website
- syncPG partner properties
Booking Payment Types
Full Payment: User pays the complete amount at the time of booking (rent + deposit + applicable charges).
Partial Payment / Advance: User pays a small advance, and the remaining amount must be paid at the time of check-in. Failure to pay the balance may result in cancellation.
Pay-at-Property: User pays only a nominal amount online and the balance directly to the PG/Hostel at check-in.
Additional Charges (if applicable)
Directly payable to the PG/Hostel:
- Electricity charges
- Food charges / meal plans
- Housekeeping charges
- Laundry / maintenance charges
- Security deposit
- Taxes, if applicable
- Any service-specific charges decided by the PG/Hostel owner
syncPG has no control over these charges.
5. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
- Cancellations can be done through the syncPG app/website or via customer support.
- Cancellation charges depend on the specific PG/Hostel’s policy, not syncPG.
- Security deposit refunds (if applicable) are processed solely by the PG/Hostel owner.
- syncPG’s convenience fee/service fee is non-refundable under all circumstances.
- No-shows may lead to full deduction as per PG policy.
6. ROOM CHANGE & EXTENSION
- Room changes depend on availability and PG rules.
- Additional charges may apply.
- Extension of stay is subject to availability and timely payment.
7. USER CONDUCT & PROPERTY RULES
Users must comply with:
- Property timings (entry/exit)
- Visitor rules
- Food timings
- Noise restrictions
- Safety/security guidelines
- Cleanliness and maintenance expectations
- Prohibited activities (alcohol, smoking, illegal substances, etc.)
Violation of rules may lead to immediate eviction by the PG/Hostel operator.
8. DATA PRIVACY
User information may be shared with PG/Hostel owners for booking, check-in, KYC, and safety verification purposes.
Personal data is processed in accordance with the syncPG Privacy Policy.
9. MISCELLANEOUS
- PG/Hostel owners are solely responsible for following all state/city regulations, including tenant verification and police intimation.
- syncPG is not liable for any fine, penalty, or enforcement action taken against the PG/Hostel.
- syncPG may reject claims in case of misuse, fraud, or ineligible requests.
- All disputes shall be governed by the laws of India.
- Courts with jurisdiction in Chennai (or your city) shall have exclusive authority over legal matters.
- syncPG will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
